Terms & Conditions

Fencing Fantasy, LLC (“Fencing Fantasy” or “FF”).
Version 1.0 — effective April 21, 2026.

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. By placing an order with FF or using this website, you accept these terms and agree to be bound by them. These Terms & Conditions cover our Terms of Sale, Returns, Limited Warranty, Warning & Safety notice, Shipping & Delivery, Terms of Use, Force Majeure, and Dispute Resolution.

Section 1

Terms of Sale

Acceptance. Placing an order with FF confirms that you have read these Terms & Conditions, accept them, and intend to be legally bound by them. FF may decline or cancel any order at its sole discretion.

Pricing and availability. Prices and product availability are subject to change without notice. Wholesale and club pricing is available only to approved accounts under FF’s Wholesale Account Policy.

Order acceptance. An order is not accepted until FF confirms it in writing. FF may cancel or partially fulfill any order if product is unavailable, pricing is in error, or the order cannot be verified.

Payment. FF accepts the payment methods offered at checkout. All invoices are due upon receipt. FF does not offer net terms. Wholesale payment methods and any applicable minimum-order values for card payments are set out in FF’s Wholesale Account Policy. Orders remain unshipped until payment clears.

Regulatory compliance. Buyers and users of FF products must use equipment in accordance with the requirements of the USA Fencing Athlete Handbook and/or the FIE rulebook, whichever applies in your locale.

Disclaimer of implied warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FF disclaims all representations and warranties other than those expressly stated in writing — including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The remedies set out in these Terms & Conditions are the customer’s sole and exclusive remedies.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FF’s total liability for any claim relating to a product — whether for personal injury, wrongful death, loss of profits, lost wages, goodwill, downtime, or any other consequential, incidental, or economic loss — will not exceed the purchase price paid for the product giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification and hold harmless. The customer and any user of an FF product agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold Fencing Fantasy harmless against any claim for personal injury, property damage, or other loss arising from the product or from its use. In no event will FF’s aggregate liability under this Agreement exceed the purchase price paid for the product at issue.

Governing law. Any claim relating to FF or its products shall be governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Section 2

Returns

General policy. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery. The product must be unused, undamaged, and returned in its original packaging with all tags and accessories.

Condition-based refusal. Products returned with scratches, stains, wear, or missing packaging may be refused or subject to a restocking fee at FF’s discretion.

Documentation required. The product and the original invoice or receipt must both be provided for FF to process any return.

Shipping charges. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Size exchanges. For apparel size exchanges (jackets, knickers, lamés), FF will provide a prepaid return label for the first exchange of the same item on orders shipped to the continental U.S. Additional exchanges on the same order are at the customer’s shipping expense.

Non-returnable items. The following items are non-returnable:

  • Clearance items
  • Custom or personalized items (embroidery, grip customization, SKUs marked "Custom")
  • Weapons that have been used or assembled
  • Opened electrical components (body cords, sockets, reels)

Wholesale orders. Returns on wholesale orders are accepted only for manufacturing defects under the Limited Warranty. Wholesale orders are not eligible for general returns.

Refund method. Approved returns are resolved by store credit only.Store credit is issued to the customer’s FF account, does not expire, and may be applied to a future order. FF does not issue cash refunds or refunds to the original payment method on returned merchandise. This is FF’s sole and exclusive remedy on accepted returns.

Section 3

Limited Warranty

Coverage. FF warrants its own-branded products to arrive undamaged and in working order. Claims must be received within 30 daysof delivery. At FF’s sole discretion, FF will provide either a replacement product or store credit. FF will not accept a return or warranty claim for any other reason.

Exclusions. This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by abuse, accident, neglect, misuse, or improper maintenance or repair
  • Failure to follow the instructions provided with the product
  • Any alteration of the product by anyone other than FF
  • Damage during transit by a common carrier, including airline baggage handling
  • Weapons that have been used in bouting or competition

Third-party products. FIE-family products and other third-party branded products are covered, if at all, only by the warranty of the original manufacturer. FF distributes these items but does not provide its own warranty coverage on them.

How to make a claim. Retain your original invoice. To file a warranty claim, contact us with photos of the defect, the invoice, and a description of the issue. The product must be returned (shipping at customer’s expense) for inspection before a replacement or store credit is issued. The product and the original receipt must both be provided for FF to process the claim.

Replaced products. Any product that is replaced under this warranty becomes the property of FF.

Weapons. Fencing weapons are consumables. FF is not responsible for weapon condition after delivery. Customers are responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and testing weapons before each use and before competition. See the Warning & Safety notice below for inspection guidance.

Section 4

Warning & Safety

Read, understand, follow, and save these instructions.

Inherent risk

Fencing is a combat sport with inherent risk. Participating in fencing, training with fencing equipment, or being in close proximity to fencing activity can result in injury or death to participants and bystanders alike. No protective equipment, including FF’s, can eliminate these risks.

Proper protective equipment is required

Full protective kit must be worn before participating in any fencing activity:

  • Mask
  • Jacket
  • Underarm protector (plastron)
  • Chest protector (where appropriate)
  • Knickers
  • Gloves
  • Long socks
  • Fencing shoes

Every piece must be checked before every use.

Do not modify equipment

Protective equipment and clothing must not be modified in any way. Seams must not be opened. Parts must not be added, removed, or replaced except by a qualified armorer using original manufacturer components. Care and laundering instructions must be followed — failure to do so can reduce the level of protection.

Inspect your equipment before every use

Before each use, check protective clothing for defects including:

  • Dents, abrasions, holes
  • Broken seams, broken zippers, tears, scratches
  • Broken welds, broken wires
  • Missing rivets, worn elastic
  • Irregularities or tears in the mask mesh, loose mask bibs
  • Rust

Equipment showing any of these defects should not be used.

Broken blades are a particular hazard

A blade that breaks during fencing can produce high tip velocities and high-energy impacts. Broken blades have been known to penetrate protective equipment and cause serious injury or death. No practical fencing kit — including FF’s — is capable of withstanding every broken-blade impact.

Right-handed and left-handed clothing are not interchangeable

Fencing clothing is constructed for either a right-handed or left-handed fencer (marking is shown on the garment). Right-handed clothing must not be used by a left-handed fencer, and vice versa.

Weapons inspection and maintenance

Inspect your weapon before each use:

  • Check the hilt for tightness.
  • Look for nicks or sharp edges on the blade and guard.
  • Look for pits, cracks, rust, or irregular bends in the blade.
  • A continuous arch along the blade is normal; an S-shaped bend indicates dangerous stress and should be carefully straightened before fencing.

Store weapons in a low-humidity environment. A light coating of thin oil on the blade helps prevent rust.

Worn or deformed blades, loose points, damaged guards, or frayed wires must be replaced before use.

350 N penetration-resistance claim

FF’s 350 N-rated uniform components (jackets, knickers, plastrons) meet or exceed 350 N penetration resistance based on independent third-party testing of the underlying product construction. CE certification exists for equivalent items distributed under the original manufacturer’s own label; FF has not obtained separate CE certification under the Fencing Fantasy brand. Supporting test reports are maintained on file and are available on reasonable written request.

FIE-certified items

FIE-certified products (FIE blades, FIE complete points, FIE chest protectors) carried by FF are manufactured and certified by the original third-party manufacturer. FF distributes but does not manufacture any FIE-certified item.

Assumption of risk

Failure to follow these warnings and the product’s instructions can result in product failure, property damage, serious bodily injury, or death. By purchasing and using FF products, you acknowledge these risks and agree that any use of the product is at your own risk.

Section 5

Shipping & Delivery

Domestic shipping. FF ships to the continental 48 United States via UPS and FedEx Ground. Typical transit time is 5–10 business days after the order ships.

Alaska, Hawaii, and international. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations ship by custom quote only. Please contact us with the order details and destination for a shipping estimate.

Shipping schedule. Orders are processed and shipped on posted shipping days. Order cutoff times for same-day processing are noted at checkout.

Wholesale freight. Wholesale orders ship under quoted freight. Freight is quoted per order at the time of shipment, once items are packed and dimensional and actual weights are known. Standing wholesale accounts may request pre-negotiated freight terms. See the Wholesale Account Policy for full shipping terms applicable to approved accounts.

Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Weight basis. Shipping charges are calculated from the dimensional weight of the total order; actual weight may differ.

Delivery. Once a shipment has been handed to the carrier, delivery timelines are governed by the carrier’s service standards. FF is not responsible for carrier delays.

Section 6

Terms of Use

Use of this site. By accessing this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Access controls. Pricing, ordering, and certain product information are available only to logged-in, approved accounts. Access is granted at FF’s discretion.

Disclaimer of warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FF disclaims all representations and warranties other than those expressly stated in writing — including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FF’s total liability for any claim relating to this website or its products — whether for personal injury, wrongful death, loss of profits, lost wages, goodwill, downtime, or any other consequential, incidental, or economic loss — will not exceed the purchase price paid for the product at issue.

Governing law. Any claim relating to this website shall be governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Section 7

Force Majeure

FF is not liable for any delay or failure in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic or epidemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, carrier delays or failures, supplier delays or failures, customs or other regulatory action, shortages of materials or transportation, or interruption of utilities or communications. If a force-majeure event materially affects an order, FF will notify the customer and may reasonably adjust delivery timelines, substitute comparable items (with customer consent where required), or cancel the affected order. Cancellation under this section is not a breach of these Terms & Conditions.

Section 8

Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution first. Before filing any formal proceeding, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute relating to FF, its products, or this website through direct written notice and a thirty (30) day negotiation period.

Binding arbitration. Any dispute that is not resolved through informal negotiation shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules (or, where AAA determines it applies, its Consumer Arbitration Rules). The arbitration shall be seated in the State of Kansas and conducted by a single arbitrator. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Waiver of jury trial and class action. To the fullest extent permitted by law, each party waives any right to a trial by jury and any right to participate in a class action, collective action, or other representative proceeding relating to FF, its products, or this website.

Preserved rights. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking temporary or injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property, trade secrets, or confidential information. Nothing in this section applies to any claim that cannot be subject to pre-dispute arbitration under applicable law, including any right preserved under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2301 et seq.) for consumer warranty claims. Small-claims actions within the jurisdictional limits of a court of competent jurisdiction are also not affected by this section.

Severability of this section. If the class-action waiver is held unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim shall be severed from arbitration and litigated in court; the remainder of this section will remain in full force.
